Teacher Training
The Teacher Training (Educational Professions) program is a one- to two-year program for juniors and seniors. The first year is offered as a morning class, while the second year is offered in the afternoon. Students can earn up to 21 Yavapai College credits and work toward Level 1 State Fingerprint, First Aid/CPR/AED, and Para-Professional Certifications. The program also provides progress toward an AAS in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary & Secondary Education. Classes are held at the Verde Tech Campus in Cottonwood.
Teacher Training Instructors
Deana De Witt
Deana DeWitt is an instructor for the Education Professions Program, teaching college-level courses for our second-year students. Mrs. DeWitt is a retired educator with more than 25 years of experience working in several Verde Valley School Districts. She has taught everything from early childhood to adult education, served as a Mentor Teacher, Director of Student Services, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, and as Assistant Superintendent. Mrs. DeWitt holds a Master's Degree in Education: Curriculum & Instruction as well as a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. She and her husband raised their children in the Verde Valley and now have five grandchildren who will attend local schools. She is passionate about helping to prepare future educators who will one day make a positive impact on the children they work with and their communities.
Kaylee Randall
Kaylee Randall is the Education Professions Instructor at VACTE, where she helps high school students explore careers in education and discover the kind of educator they hope to become. She holds a Master’s degree in Learning and Technology and brings experience in early childhood education, curriculum development, tutoring, and creating meaningful learning experiences for learners of all ages.
Kaylee is passionate about creating hands-on, real-world learning opportunities that allow students to experience education beyond the classroom. She loves helping future educators build confidence, discover their strengths, and understand the lasting impact they can have on children, families, and their communities.
The Verde Valley is home, and Kaylee is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape her. She is passionate about helping “grow our own”—encouraging students to see themselves as future educators and empowering them to make a difference right here in their own communities. Outside of VACTE, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, being outdoors, baking, and creating special moments with family and friends.
